Song and Spoken Word

In addition to solo readings, S. Rudanskaya performs her poetry with the live musical accompaniment of a variety of phenomenal musicians. The melodic inspiration behind their compositions has its basis in Jazz, elaborated with the tools and techniques of electronica. Although in the context of performance, the majority of the music is the result of structured improvisation, in the receording process the relationship between word and melody takes the form of something closer to song.

S. Rudanskaya is currently working on a spoken word album of pieces of Damn of Consciousness, envisioned as a collaborative effort with the musicians of Sevenseventeen. The album, a marriage of poetry, drum ‘n’ bass, classical nocturnes, and progressive rock, has a projected release date in early 2010. Updates and new recorded material will be available soon.
